Default how do i create a link

i want to create a link that allows me to write whatever i want and direct to a specific link. i know you use [ url ] www. xxx. com [ / url ] to make a normal link, but what is the code to add your own text or a picture (so you click on a pic to go to the site)?? i'm obviously not a computer programer, so thanks for the help

For the text, the easiest way is to just push the little HTTP:// button (just above the text box where you put your reply) when you're typing your message.

A prompt box will come up and ask you first for the text you want to see (enter it and press OK), then a second prompt box will come up for the URL of the place you want to reference. Just paste the entire http string into that box.

Example: I'm changing the brackets in the example below to parens so you can see what the result looks like.

(URL=http://www.google.com)Google(/URL) looks like:
Google

Doing it with an image is similar, but you have to imbed the IMG commands inside (remove the spaces from the gif URL as well). A little more complex.

(URL=http://www.google.com) Text you want (img) http:// www. image . gif (/img)

Did something similar on my signature.
