Default issues w/ this forum...

I'm about a year away from realistically looking at buying a new car, so trying to get involved in the community of some of the models I'm considering so I can be an informed buyer when the time is right. That being said -

Between the seemingly juvenile flaming problems specific to the IS forums and the complete overgeneralization of the forum layout I'm wondering if there is an alternative community to check out but I'm not having any luck finding one through general web searches. I get that this is kind of a "so which one of your competitors should I go to to buy the same product from?" question, but are any of you members of other forums that you find informative, entertaining, and helpful?

I just can't get used to the organization (or lack thereof) of this site; coming from other toyota forums as well as a Nissan forum of which I am also a member, it is disappointing to open up the IS section here and see ONLY a main section for general comments/questions, a suspension section, a general performance section, and THATS IT... no photos section, no interior vs exterior, care care, wheels/tires, engine model specificity, DIY's, anything... I really don't care about the other Lexus models, is there another community out there that is better laid out and specific to just the IS? Just not feeling like I would ever want to come here unless I had a specific question about something, and if I did, the search had better be working right because I don't think I'd find it easily otherwise!

Not trying to rip on club lexus, just trying to find the best fit and see if the IS is something I should continue to consider. Thanks.

I was never a member of any other forum, but i feel like much like anything else new in life, it will grow on you!

I say give it a chance if you havent already. It really is a good community, and you can pretty much guarantee yourself your questions will be answered when you post. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum.

As far as 2IS forums go, there is also my.is but that forum seems to be dead.

hi sycsummit. Sorry to hear you are not having a positive experience with CL. I think this is one of the best informative and active lexus forums.

Link below will get you access to the more general topics such as wheels / tires, car care, and etc.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/index.php

the best place to start is the link below. has a list of DIY (section 5), talks about suspension, photos, and more. All located in one area.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tart-here.html

There are loads of photo threads in each of the different lexus model thread. Hope I helped, but it is up to you to give CL a chance to learn the layout of the forum.

Sorry to hear you're not having an ideal experience here. We are (by far) the largest online Lexus Enthusiast community, so the layout of our forum is targeted at the entire population of Lexus owners, not just specific models of a certain brand like many other forums. Detailing concepts apply to every make and model of car, so instead of having 30+ detailing sections covering the same information over and over, we have a dedicated sub-forum for Automotive Care and Detailing. The 2nd Gen FAQ/DIY thread provides many, many links to the most useful DIY threads. And yes, because of the sheer number of members (and associated topics started daily) that we have, we strongly encourage the use of the 'search' function.

I encourage you to check out some of the other online Lexus communities, and then return to CL and see how much flaming and disorganization exists here. Best of luck,

Javier

Thanks for the feedback. As stated MyIS is the specific site dedicated to thee IS.

I think the posts above were very good. No forum is perfect. Our IS forum exploded with the 2IS and we added specific forums based on the number of threads in the general forum. The problem with having multiple forums is it can kill a forum by having too many options.

If you see a post/thread that is problematic you can use the REPORT feature at the bottom left hand corner of a post. Thanks
