I really hate the new thread URL format. It's extremely long and has no element of surprise when I'm linking threads to friends over AIM. Why did we have to change it?

What was added is called a "Search Engine Optimization plugin". The new URLs provide a significant benefit to CL by drawing new members to our community via search engines.

"Element of surprise", lol. Sorry you don't like them, but this feature should help grow our community.

I'm also trying to get the additional functionality turned on that will make the new URLs when we paste them into CL more descriptive.
