Forum Question: Does Club Lexus use a backup system?

Question for Dave or Mods. I ask this because this past week the other forum I'm on was hacked and 1 full year was completely lost.

Basically, the forum was instantly brought back to Nov of '07 and everyone (worldwide members) lost there post counts and all posts and threads in the last year. Quite devastating to the community. Unfortunately, the administrator didn't invest in a backup system.

I have heard of other forums being hacked as well. I wouldn't want to see the extensive material on CL to be lost because of some idiot hacker.

I'm sure the server is RAID or has some sort of "recall" type back up.

wth could someone possibly get out of hacking a site?
is there a way to make money off of it? or would the person just do it because they're pathetic?

I guess the same sick reason people send out viruses to a ton of people they don't know. I guess they do it because they can. They get some sort of pleasure by causing others misery.

Dave saves all the data on this USB thumb drive and takes it home everyday.

I am sure the servers on the back end clearly have raid for disc failure but on top of that nightly backup's, SQL dumps and offsite storage is about the norm for most data centers.
