I receive many PMs from members who want to change their Club Lexus user name (example - my member name is DaveGS4). I don't mind changing them but I want to start to keep a public record of those changes. I want to do this to help the moderator team when looking up historical information in case of issue as well as members who might want to look up feedback for buyers and sellers who could have changed their user name.

How it works

Post your proposed new user name request as a reply to this thread and also list your current member name. Your proposed new user name must:
1) be 20 characters or less (NOTE change in May 2023 to expand our length requirement from 10 to 20!)
2) not be associated with any vendor or business you represent
3) no URL associated user names ".com, .net" etc
4) not be profane
5) not be in use by any other CL member

You can only request one name change per year.

Keep in mind we have over 100,000 members and many thousands have joined CL that do not post - they only log in to learn and read - so you won't be 100% certain you'll get the name you requested until I try. You can try to look first on our members list here. If you want, list (in order of preference) two or three names to try.

I will check this thread every four or five weeks and do all the new name change requests at once. Please do not bump the thread or PM me asking "so when are you going to change my name?" - I have over 16,000 PMs in my inbox already, thanks for helping me and for being patient .

After your member name is changed
If you try to log in using your old name and it says invalid, that likely means I've changed your user name. Enter your new user name and the same password you had previously to log in. All your posts and PMs will have changed to the new member name. You don't lose any history.

You aren't allowed to have any signature on our forum because you could not follow the forum signature rules. You had three strikes meaning three moderator requests to change which you ignored by using increasingly larger images. Culminating in (the final straw) a moving GIF nearly 2.5 mb in size.

That's the only limitation you have... just be happy I didn't ban you after that last one
