Site Suggestions & ProblemsBring up any suggestions, questions or problems concerning ClubLexus. If you need to test a forum feature, post here too.
Note - questions about your Lexus do not belong in this forum!
Plus it would eliminate the same questions being asked over and over again.. It would save a lot of time on getting replies back for a particular question a member may have...
Or at least have 20 how to questions and answers.. Or at least a link to them
You know, Mike has a FAQ section in the main ClubLexus section. It seems like it is not utilized currently. Seems like we should put it to use and fill it with content. Any suggestions on how to commence?
Oh, there are also articles there. Seems like a lot of CL members just bookmark the forums, and bypass the entry.
Originally posted by The Ikon But the FAQ section is more on how to use the site/forum/post pics/email etc.. not a how to section...
Not really. It's actually a how to Car FAQ. Mike has laid it out all under models already, it's just there's no content. If you recall the FAQ in the old forum, it was a car FAQ.
I guess we could search through threads that have good write-ups and let the moderators know about them. I know Dexter, Superjoe, and Manaray have done some good write-ups in the GS section. The moderators could "edit" them, if need be, just to eliminate the bull**** posts within the thread. 2savvy had the good post about the chrome grill, that should definitely be included.
I KNOW several of you have bookmarked the threads.
A seperate "How To" section would be VERY helpful. I think it should be seperated by each type of vehicle.
For example:
GS400---> How To---> Install ECU
This would be a "read only" post and would be a "standard installation guide." It would take the reader step-by-step with pics and notes on how to install the ECU. This part would have to be reviewed to make sure it's accurate and has no errors, ommisions.
Within this thread you could allow public Q/A about the installation, just like any other thread.
I guess there would have to be some type of procedure to submit a "standard installation guide" and there would need to be a few technically talented folks willing to review and edit the submissions before being published.
