I find it frustrating that every time someone votes in a poll, it bumps the thread and turns the title back to bold, suggesting to me that the thread has unread replies.
I wish there were some way to distinguish that a thread with a poll has an actual new post in it, as opposed to simply having a new vote tally.

Appreciate your concern but it's a bit of a catch 22 issue
It's either 'on' and gets bumped when there is a vote or 'off' and the poll sinks and very few members end up voting on it, especially in the higher volume forums (like 2IS, 2GS or SC300/400).
Moderators try to mitigate that a bit so that except for a few very general interest exceptions, we put end dates in the polls so that they close after a few days and only get bumped if someone replies to them.
