How to start a voting poll????

Can someone show me how to create a voting poll? I have been trying to figure it out now for like 30 minutes. It is probably really simply but I am just an idiot...

Create a new thread, then scroll down and check the box that says "Yes, post a poll with this thread"

After you click the start a poll option and post your reply, you will be taken to a secondary screen with the options.

If you want to test it out here in this forum first, that's what its for
