what does the phrase 56K mean? I see it all the time on the site.

It is a good way to develop patience and develop new manual multi-tasking challenges. Start the DL then organize the file cabinet, clean the desk, have lunch and come back to check progress.

WOHOOOO!!!!!!!! I'm getting FIBER OPTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Verizon just installed little FO boxes all across Hermosa Beach... slowest speed is 6mb DL... not bad for "slow"....

FYI... If you're ever around the City of Hermosa Beach, HB has FREE WiFi in the entire city.... We love the City Council out here....

I use to run 14.4k on my 133mhz computer 4MB RAM, upgradable to 8MB.
