Default Locking 2+ year old threads?

Is this such a good idea? We encourage people to use the search function to find answers to their questions, and sometimes when searching you find an old thread that is right on point but doesn't necessarily provide an answer. A lot of times I see old threads bumped where the current poster asks the original poster whether he ever solved the problem. Anyway, I was just thinking that a rule that 2+ year old threads should be locked isn't such a good idea.

We lock them at moderators discretion when a topic is bumped without additional merit. Not all of them are going to be locked, if that's what you're saying.

BTW, please place posts like this in the site suggestions forum or in a PM to a moderator.

Thanks.

Thanks.

We won't lock old threads for the sake of being old. However, in the case of the one I closed, that info is old and no sense in having it bumped again and again.
