So I ordered the Otto Racing Strut Tower bar for my car. 90bucks shipped.

Good deal, the guy called me told me he ordered it and it would be shipped in a week, week goes by, nothing. Two weeks go by, I call....

LM: Oh yea, sorry man left it in back of the shop. we'll get that right out to you.

Me: Ah sorry, I want it next day'd to me now. You "forgot it"??

LM: O.k. I'll next day it, sorry again.

That was Tuesday night.

So today I get my bar....but when I take it out of the box and the newspaper wrapping, I see that it has been mounted to a car already...Its far from new. All the paint is worn on the brackets where the bolts go. The bar itself is dingy. No instructions nothing, O.k. whatever I can get over it. But when I go and mount the bar, my hood wont close, try mounting it the other way...no good. hood goes to the latch and that's it. It doesn't fit. But it the first email, the guy said it would.

So I want to return it, get the JIC maybe, or maybe a Cusco from wherever?
The dude will not pick up the phone, return emails, nothing!!!!

Anyone had problems with this company???

I'm very jumpy when it comes to things not being right.

I got totally hosed on a set of wheels for my SRT4. Like to the point where I wouldn't mind going through the whole court system and getting sued to beat the dude down in public......and I work in medicine

I tried to make light of it all, seeing if the brackets would fit the rear struts (making a rear strut tower bar) but no, too big.

i suggest you to calm down and try to resolve it with lm. being jumpy definitely won't get you far, even if it's their faults. be persistent and patient, that's the way to go. and post back too if possible

 

I think I'm doing quit well considering. That the shipping dude ahh flaked and left my part sitting on the back dock, but ran a shipping label with fed ex. So I'm sitting here tracking a part that never left. Only to find out it never left the shop from Fed Ex people, not LM.

Then when it gets here I'm expecting some shinny new bar, and I get a beat up one that's been used and has gashes in the polished aluminum part. Then when I install it I doesn't even fit, and its not like its just hitting the insulation, the hood latch was 1"3/4 away from the ring. If I were to force the hood it would bend somewhere.

Even though its a $90 part, Its still my 90 bucks!!!

I'm just very frustrated. I don't even care if they make good on it anymore. I gunning for a refund and that's it.

ebay seems more reliable.

Which BTW everything I ordered from eBay came w/o a problem.

So today, I get a call from someone there and apparently they shipped a LS400 bar. So now he's going to send me the SC and I'm to use the brackets. Fine. I'll take that.

If everything fits, My picky perfectionistic anus will be happy!!!

I have had good experiences with luxurymods, but I know the types of experiences you are talking about. I had one group, Pro Street Online, that I ordered a Weapon-R Cold Air Box for my RX300 way back in late 2004. Now, on their site they said it was in stock, but it turns out I had to not only call them, but also Weapon-R to understand it was backordered several months. I ended up making my own modifications after I cancelled the order.

Being an attorney, I could have initiated some sort of more intensive consumer complaint as they would show in stock on a lot of their stuff back then, but I figure bad press is worse.

Got the new bar....doesnt fit.....hood wont close....An its another used bar...or they're that beat up from the place they are made!!!

sending it back, wanting refund.....I"m sooooo done!!!

 

not sending back....buying another bar from somewhere else!!!!!
