clearcorners.com: yes or no
Is there some sort of bad reputation for clearcorners.com for CL?
They seem like a great company by their products and their extensive detailing. But CL doesn't list them as any sort of sponsor or little is even said about them. I know a few members have some custom work done by clearcorners but why so little support in them? Is it the tremendous pricing?
I know if I had the cash I'd get all of those crazy goodies done, except maybe that cornering lamp not amber LEDs and maybe bright white LEDs instead.
Comments on any work that they have done on any CL members SCs?
Any information would be great because that's probably the first thing I'm going to save up for. I like cosmetics first and than performance work.
You can' t be taken seriously until your car looks serious. By no means do I want a ricer, just a customized, tuned VIP rocket.

But it's so pretty!!!
Honestly I'd rather go big. I'd dish out the extra cash to get something that few would have. I mean how many crazy people like me spend that much money on cosmetics? Most people would clear it themselves and buy the LLS LED boards. I would too but I'm much too lazy to install things of that sort on my own.
Me + eletrical components = me crying
Man if only clearcorners would do GBs... but that won't ever happen because the time to create their, products is too long for most GBs. Could you do without your tails, headlights, highbeams corner lamps, blinkers for probably well over a month? That means your gonna have to garage your beauty for that time... or have spare housings around.

2 grand for lights? thats like 1/4 of my car.. not worth it in my eyes. Perhaps If I didn't have anything else to do with my car and had some money, why not? 2Gs, i'd probably rather get a nice system.. or some tv's and hook up my playstation (if I didn't have anything else to do with my car). But oh I have lots.. so my 2gs are going to new wheels.
edit: thats 1/4 of what i originally paid for my car..

I would never put TV's in my car because "Hey I'm not using them!"
What I originally paid for my car?
$0
My dad gave me my SC400. Because he decided we had too many cars and my car (the old 92 Celica) was the crappiest of all of them, he sold the Celica. Funny because he bought it for 2100 and sold it for 2000.
There's some bodywork that needs to be done on my SC4 before I can do some upgrading...
No one likes a hooked up banged up car...
I think my dad paid 4500 for the SC, and that was only about a year and a half ago.
He knows I'm into performance cars. I might even steal his LS4 1UZFE and pretend nothing happened(lower mileage).
And he owes me for not letting me buy a 93 TT 6spd Targa Supra with 900+RWHP. Ugh I regret not buying that car... and it was going for 12,000 because the guy got bored with it. And he was going to throw in a few other goodies if I was to pay 18,000. Like a custom paint job, N2O lines installed, roll cage fabbed, those hard to find Japanese headlights that allow for crazy suction to those beautiful turbos...
sigh... man that car would've made the rest of my life more interesting... And maybe shorter...
Driving the car off the lot: VROOOOOM... click.... VROOOOM... click... VROOOOOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Well I want the works I just wanted to know if the work is up to par on what they say it is.
Is the money worth the looks?
And do they create their products to be easily plugged back in?
I don't plan to do any of these modifications in the near future but I would like to. The money is the major problem... I'm a college student

well, the black sc you see on their site with the 97-00 tailights are mine and are completely stock in the way they mount and plug in.... their work is impeccable in the fit and finish department. the only drawback is price... sometimes you get what you pay for though. However, if you do happen to take the plunge and purchase a set of these...you will not be dissapointed!

a lot of times i find myself waiting in the car .. wether it is to meet up with some friends
..or waiting for my girl to come downstairs
.. or i'm double parked and my passenger is buying me food
.. or just lounging near the water at the strip
.. or i'm on a road trip and my and my friend are taking turns
.. or i'm stuck in non-moving traffic
.. or the red light is taking forever to change
.. or perhaps my clutch went out and im waiting for the tow truck to come get me
, or i'm on my lunch break and theres no point of going home cuz i live an hour away and break is only for an hour, .. i think thoughout a whole day of errands, i can get through a movie watching in segments.. but of course.. most people just put tvs in their car not to watch but for show use.
you're actually willing to pay the price...wow...more power to you then! Seriously the things they do can easily be done with less than half the price if you just use a tad bit of creativity. I am just like you, I dont know the first thing about electronics but I can order that LED board from LLS (I already cleared my own tail lights, only a little bit more work and you got yourself some LED tail lamps (just saved god knows how much money.)
good luck with your mods mage.

DarchMage,
I don't quite understand your question. We don't list them as a sponsor simply because they are not one. There is no reason to support a company we currently have no relationship with
.
As far as members mentioning them... I've got no personal experience with them, but it sounds like base prices are pretty high based on the conversation in this thread.
A word of personal advise. Don't construct your self image around your car, build it around you as a person and the way you treat others.

Well I've heard lots of talk about clearcorners from CL but I never actually see much work done to CL memebrs cars. It'd be great if clearcorners would work something out to drop their prices. Yea the base pricing is pretty... ouch.
Well what I meant is if someone pulls up to your car reving and you look completely stock, they'll more than likely think they'll burn you. Of course knowing my car well and how ridiciculously fast it can move I more than likely will crap on their chest. But you get some more looks from people if you've spent some time and invested money into all aspects of your car. And when I do win they won't say "Well, at least my car looks better."
My car isn't me, it's just a way to express my style and will to burn other cars. And just to test out the WOT... I've hit 135mph stock. Ballsy...
