Why was it closed? This is what I was talking about, the scammers are protected on this site!

Gazi,
The entire new portion of the conversation was off topic from the thread and not useful other than badmouthing someone that isn't here to defend themself, even if they may deserve it. As far as I know, you personally had nothing to do with the issue with SRT and Jimmy.
That specific situation (which I did get involved in) was resolved months ago, payment was made. It's over with & there is no reason to keep dragging people through the dirt.
Scammers are most certainly NOT protected on this site. ClubLexus main forums, however, are not a place to come and continuously complain about problems you've had with a customer or about an item you've bought in the classifieds that was not fully as you expected. We've had problems with people 'stalking' other members in the forums and classifieds when they have an issue (valid or not). That approach is not allowed here and we have an outlet for complaints in the buyer / seller feedback forum.

ClubLexus forums are just like anyplace you go to buy items and Caveat Emptor "Let the buyer beware" applies (ebay, newspapers, autotrader, etc); you have to take smart steps in buying to protect yourself. We have both safe buying suggestions and rules for our classifieds and encourage members to use the buy/sell feedback forumn we have in place which is the primary mechnism for other members to know how past sales went. Using practices like:
- Get the seller to post or send detailed pictures.
- Pay to get the item insured when it is shipped.
- Only use shipping with tracking certification
- For big $$ items, get escrow or pay only via COD after the item is inspected.
- Get somebody local to go look at it for you. etc.
Simple common sense would avoid 95% of the issues. If you know of 'scammers' that have sold items in our classifieds, the buyer should be posting about them in the forum above. If they do not, they do a disservice to other members on this forum.
Also, posts like this do not belong in the main forums, you can either PM a moderator or put in the site suggestions forum please

Sorry, if the original thread was open from the complainer who sold the turbo kit to Jimmy, we would not be in this situation. The thread would have been updated, but it was closed, so all the people who read the complaints are still in the dark.
I hope this makes sense.

If there are outstanding problems with the complainer who sold the turbo kit to Jimmy, there is a buy/sell feedback forum for that type of post. The 'drama' of this stuff should not go in the main forums, not only because we don't allow that type of slug-fest to go on there, but because that is where potential future buyers can & should look for feedback on a sellers (or buyers) credibility.

the buyer/seller feedback will warn members not to deal with a particular person in a future transaction, but will not assist the complainer.
if the orignal thread from ways back remained open, we would have been able to console/assist the person, rather than closing the thread and leaving him out to dry.
Dont take this as bashing, I just want to make sure that we are there for people in good and bad times.
Thanks.

No problem, suggestions are always good. However, those types of threads where two CL members are involved in a dispute almost always degenerate into personal attacks, bashing, etc. not only by those involved, but by people wanting to chip in their two cents. That's exactly what happened in the thread I closed (and removed off-topic comments) that spawned this one, for example.
You can use PM if you want to offer assistance, suggestions and condolence directly to the person involved. Luckily that sort of stuff doesn't happen often.
