Default New Ads all over CL

I dont know if there is some sort of new ad service on CL, but nearly all of the banners are now replaced wtih "weight loss/anti -smoking/etc etc" ad banners. I have yet to see a normal CL vendor ad banner yet today. I checked my software files, and deleted anything that may have been spywared in. I also have this damn targetsearch.com filter loaded in that underscores key words on EVERY page. Very annoying. As I said, I cleaned my programs out but still have this problem.

Anyone else have these issues? My pages load a lot slower as well.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I can not download any new software either (work computer).

LOL good one Dave . I dont visit any of those sites (remember this is a "work" latptop- so I can't )

I use AIM and sometimes you get TONS of pop ups when you go there, I must have been "X-ing out" of some pops and downloaded some stuff, very annoying.

This software called Ad-Aware cleaned it right out though.

Spybot Search and Destroy is also another good program that gets rid of spyware. I use this program and Adware, but since I stopped using Internet Explorer I haven't been getting any spyware on my computer. Here's the link to Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/

Spybot destroys ad aware. ten times better, i made the switch after it found 100 more little bugs on my comp than ad aware, which had just been ran ten minutes before!!

get Spybot here! --- http://download.com.com/Spybot%20-%2...ml?tag=lst-0-3

Yup...I switched over to Spybot awhile back and it's definitely better than Adaware. No more spyware and popups for me after the switch.

Exclamation BEWARE!!

FOLKS, just beware that Spybot Search and Destroy can also download some
pretty annoying hijack software. it allowed a program in to change my registry
so that my home page always reverted to some freeware site and i couldn't
change it.
here's a link that showed me how to rid myself of it:
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...ex.php/t-70664
hope you all never get it.

no, it doesn't acutally downlaod it itself, it's just got a bug that allows for it to happen.
i'll find the article and post up. it's not harmful, just annoying as all heck.
