Default Fyi, faster browsing

Internet explorer doesn't cache images very well. If you use it to browse clublexus, it will not want to cache any of the pictures. Try a browser like firefox www.mozill.org or www.opera.com. You'll be amazed by the speed increase.

Thanks for the suggestion spinal. I installed Opera, and CL browsing is 10X better and faster than with my IE 6.0. Looks like I'll be using Opera for a while

I uninstall the compression on the webserver. 98% the people on the board use internet explorer. I figure they should be able to cache the pages, even if they are not compress.
If you want to know more about the topic, google MS Internet Explorer 'Vary' header bug.

Basically, Internet Explorer is not html 1.1 compliant. And there is not way to make it compliant with out a complete rebuild of the program

Firefox is a really fast browser, I love it The only problem is that it is a "beta" version so it is a little buggy on some sites. In these cases I use IE.

Overall, I highly recommend Firefox. Here's a direct link to the Firefox site: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Well they must have finally made CL more IE friendly then because I've noticed in the past couple of days a HUGE improvement in surfing speed with IE.

I know that somehow the banner ads and other graphics were not being cached by IE, and it seemed like a CL specific issue since I didn't have the problem with other sites, but now it seems to have been fixed. Thanks Ethan!

I just upgraded to this. It is simply wonderful. Faster, tabbed screens instead of multiple ones, built in pop up blocker and way faster than IE.

Thanks, I installed it and it's nice. Definitely faster than the pre-release. Now I've got to find a replacement for Outlook. Slowly I'm working to untangle and delete parts of the Microsoft hair ball.

Is it just me or do any of you have strange browsing problems which mysteriously go away if I close OUTLOOK? Why do these interact at all?

And why is Media Player 10 simultenaously a MUCH bigger memory hog AND MUCH SLOWER than prior versions? Only Microsoft knows how to make such inefficient code.

And now I've moved my web site from IIS to Linux...

Step by step...

Maybe a Mac in my future too...
