The past 2 weeks or so my access to the site from various computers has been at a CRAWL.

I also talked to Manny (GS4FUN) and he echo's my sentiments.

What is with the slow servers?

We all feel your pain .

Tech guys are working on it as best they can. The solution to many of the issues is an upgrade to the core VBulletin application which is coming soon.

 

Ah got ya. For a while there I thought maybe every computer I was on was just slow or I was going insane!

Yup, before I knew it was the server, I had called my Internet Company. They ran a line test and said everything checked out fine and my speed was extremely fast. They suggested that the problem was with the website I was on, not the speed from the cable modem. Didn't really believe them at first so I started browsing other websites and the speed was much quicker...

 

I was just about to start a thread about this but Iuckily I saw this one.

Anyway, CL has been so sloooooooow recently. It seems like the servers need processor upgrades or something. The software can't be the entire problem. I hope this get's resolved soon...any estimation on when things will be back to normal?

 

Ye lately it seems CL is getting slower and slower. I have no problems when i go on other forums though. Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

 

What your probably talking about is the delay on the ads, and the top banner. I had to switch those to a different server because of the unfriendly nature of vbulletin. :-D . If your computer will only load the page after the banners are loaded it might cause a delay on your end.

i'll fiddle with some settings to see if I can speed it up a little.

 

Glad it's not just me. CL has been PAINFULLY slow lately.

One thing I've noticed about CL is it not only forces a reload upon EVERY page hit (even clicking 'BACK' on the browser) but it even forces a reload of the banner graphics (without an ad) which is a complete waste of bandwidth.

 

Not only is it slow, but sometimes it takes me to the wrong places!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is anybody working on this problem?

 

Yes, we are working on the problem. I will make an announcement in the next few days about this issue.

 

The site is almost unusably slow tonight at times.

 

I've experienced times tonight and over the weekend where the site wouldn't load at all- it would just time out.

 

The past 2 weeks that's about all it's done for me at peak hours.
