Mkilty, i think if someone really stands out on this site, they should get their own personalized name from tha moderators., but i definetly like tha rank structure, except that there iz nothing higher than a "lexus Fanatic"?... -And how do some members get names like "Lexus God", and "Quick Grasshopper", ect.... -please let me know. , your brotha, Robb Sneak

Scoring points for posts read is as juvenile and asinine an idea as I've ever heard on this site.
Here's a couple recent examples.
259 views in 5 days. I love women, and images of women, but suggesting a reward for postings like these is so devoid of wisdom or good sense as to be laughable.

317 views in 25 days, leading to this jewel of a post.
Be sure to also check the subsequent post from Brendanlim.

Okay, I'll play along. Lets add these rules to that system.
They're just as valid as the idea of awarding points for "most read".
Deducting points for:
-mindlessly repeating the same topics.
-repeating the same tired phrases and words that generate complaints from CL members, eg. flaccid, toxic, mold, mildew, gym-sock, sudden and spontaneous windshield fogging?
-the number of flames it generates.
-using all upper-case letters to EMPHASIZE and DRIVE HOME a point
-posting slurs like "Book burning Southern Rednecks" in the Site Suggestions and/or Problems forum.
Laughable...What a bad, bad idea.

paddy wagon
is actually more likely correct than not.
It depends on how your system measures views, if it's simply access, then we might get some very intriguing "titles" but with lackadaisical content.
If, on the other hand, if your system uses timed access, "time on station", then that would be more likely to indicate an interest in the content.

...timed access? "time on station"??
Again, scoring points for posts read is as juvenile and asinine an idea as I've ever heard on this site. That ability does not exist in the software that is used for CL. Just drop it.
First, it's threads that are most read.
Now, it's time on station? If i click on a thread, and get called away from my PC for 30 minutes while the content is displayed on the screen, that is no indicator of my interest in the content. Or I can open multiple browser windows on a topic, or leave my PC running all night to bump up my minutes. Or log on as another user, passing through an anonymizer web site, and now I'm getting double-time "on station".
Try Internet for Dummies.
Experience the real world. The average age in this forum is quite low.
Think.
Is an 18-25 year old male is going to spend more time on:
A. Your posts, featuring mold (possibly TOXIC) and mildew?
B. Pictures of cars/bikini babes and racing/kill stories?
Hmm, Intriguing "titles" but with lackadaisical content. You're the expert!
