We all know that the iPhone is the most popular gadget/phone out there right now. I personally have one and use it to surf CL all the time.
I apologize if this question has been asked/answered (I searched but came up with a lot of iPhone results) in the past but has/will there been any talks of creating a iPhone friendly CL site? Some other forums (non-car related) that I often use has an iPhone friendly site and it's fantastic.
neurocity...I think it would be harder to have a forum viewing app because I don't think there's a 'standard' for forums. But, I'm not that technical so I can't say for certain.
I think it'd be great if there was a lite-friendly version of vBulletin that worked for CL.
Since the company that owns CL also owns the vBulletin software company I'll mention to them and see if I can get any insights on plans to build this. Know our primary contacts are at SEMA this week.
Thanks, Dave, for looking into it. I think many members would use it too.
I know for a fact that vBulletin has an iPhone friendly site for sure. The other site I frequent shows 'powered by vBulletin version 3.8.2' at the bottom of the page.
I found this link from another forum. It's a iPhone App that must be purchased for $2.99 and just requires that a the forum activate a plug-in of some sort (this is free to the forum).
I'm sure it is, but shortly after they undertook this IB has had some significant issues with some site attacks and other technical issues. Bump this thread up after the holidays at beginning of the year and I'll send a reminder note in case I haven't already done it.
