2006 IS250 AWD Strange Behavior
Ok here’s the story..
Last week I was driving my is250 in subzero temps and one morning as I merged onto the highway it started to seem like it was misfiring and eventually shut itself off. I managed to start it again and I attributed it to the cold weather so I let it run until it was hot before taking off again.. everything worked again. I used it all day, but after it cooled down all the way it wouldn’t start again. It only cranks for a half a second EVERY 24 hours.. in other words I can wake up and try to start it and it will crank for a half a second, but any time I push the button for the rest of the day it doesn’t even try to crank. I have replaced the battery 3 times since it went dead so don’t bother suggesting that. Also, removing the negative and reconnecting doesn’t seem to life the block on the cranking. I see VSC and P/S on the screen after it fails to start, but don’t know how that could be related.
One other thing I noticed was went driving it in heavy snow I got a little plastic/rub burn smell from vents at stop sign sometimes..
it has a new alternator also. What do y’all think it is?

Still trying.
I can't figure out how to read the codes.. I have a code reader, but it doesn't connect to the lexus when its not running. I have to figure out the trick to making that work on a push button car that wont start.. Either that or something is wrong.
I got carbon build up cleaning at dealership probably 1.5 years ago. Car has 170k miles.
I have an identical parts car in my garage so if i can figure it out i can just swap.. Or just keep swapping until it works.
Thanks Guys!
