Spolier removal
I need some help removing the rear spoiler on my 2002 SC430. Does anyone have step by step instructions with pictures? or can point me to a post that explaines how to do this?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks,

I don’t have the instructions but would ask if you have taken the interior material off the inside of the trunk lid to see how it is mounted?
My second question would be, have you performed a search on this subject?

I am not absolutely sure but I believe you need a thin fishing line to use as a wedge between the spoiler and the trunk. You pull it through to break the adhesive bond of the 3 m double side tape There may be one bolt or two visible from the inside behind the under liner of the trunk. You could also ask a body shop they might be more illuminating how to do.

Pole Position
Based on this webpage, I would assume there are about 5 nuts under the trunk liner

Seems like I remember someone in a thread mentioning that he removed his spoiler. You might try a search.

Thanks for the help everyone!!!
I wanted to remove the spoiler so it could be painted, but after reading all of the posts, I might just have to have the paint shop tape off the surrounding area. Looks like a lot of work to actually remove it.
Thanks again,

Rear Spoiler removal
1. remove luggage compartment liner/cover (19 clips)
2. Remove two nuts holding spoiler
3. Heat spoiler to 40' to soften adhesive tape
4. Using fine wire, slice through adhesive tape holding spoiler on to boot lid
5. Remove the five clips, 3 pins and spoiler from car
.............. easy
