Default Who has plasti-dipped the chrome on their RC?

I have been watching some videos on youtube and am just looking for first hand feedback from those that have done it on their RC. I want / plan to do the chrome around the grill, the chrome around the windows and the Lexus logo / RC350 badging on the back.

Anything to be concerned about that someone else has tried on the areas I want to do?

For those that have done the areas I mention, how well has it held up over time?

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't have a RC, however I've done a number of work on trim and wheels. I have my side trim dipped in some of the luxury black sapphire cans, my rear badges, and side trim are done as well. For my front grill and fog lights they got sprayed using plastidip with didspade hypershift pearls. My wheels are done in autoflex high gloss. If you want the best finish that looks like OEM I would highly recommend the autoflex cans. Its a pretty new product. If you have any questions let me know, I'm probably going to redo all my trim in autoflex. The side trim takes alot of masking, plastidip comes off easy if you have overspray. However with autoflex it can chemically bond with the clearcoat you put on top, so you would have to be extra careful masking anything like side trim. Right now there are only black and grey cans, if you have a HVLP sprayer you can do custom colors with mixing, however most people including myself don't have a compressor large enough to spray it due to the output required for air.

You can't wrap or dip the front emblem if you have the pre-collision system. I didn't dip, but I had my window trim, front grille trim, and roof wrapped in gloss black, and rear emblem and badges painted black. Looks amazing on my white RC.

i wanted so badly to dip the chrome on the new car this weekend. The company I work with sent me to Nashville on last Thursday and was only supposed to be here 4 days. Now I am here until next weekend....sigh. I dont know whats worse. Having to wait to dip the chrome or not getting to drive my car???
