Default Shadow Badges and Grill 3ES

Just finished spraying my chrome badges and grill. I think the results are great. Used primer, wheel paint, and clear coat.

and this is how the car looks currently as a whole.. planning on wrapping the chrome trim around windows black in the near future. No more chrome for me

Is there a way to pop off the chrome trim?

Thanks man. I hate... HATE chrome. I think it's dated.

^ pretty sure there is, if not IIRC the whole plastic black trim piece comes off.

I think it was clips holding it in.

Wow!
Looks great!
I wonder how it will hold up over time with regular washing.
Do you think the paint will hold up?
I hope so, I'm thinking about doing this to my car too.

I always thought the place piece wasn't connected to the chrome lining. I'll keep searching.

Oceanview- I believe it will last a while. My friend did his emblems the same way on his g35 and they have held up for a good amount of time. Just debadge, clean the emblem with windex to degrease, spray on some primer, spray on some wheel spray(he used duplicolor), and finish it off with a couple of coats of clearcoat spray. I'll keep this thread updated if it starts to peel/chip but I doubt it will.. the job was very thorough.

Thanks! My goal was to make it look sportier, but still kind of classy looking at the same time.

hit it with primer first.. then that paint.. then some layers of clear coat and you're good to go.

There is many different way to debage, you an get hair dryer and keep it on the emblem for a while then wen it is soft you can take floss or fishing line. but put some blue tape around the emblems so when you start sawing/rubbing away the adhesive you don't leave marks on your car. Mines came of very easily, n lie i got impatient and i took like some string and went through it and it came off, but i dont recommended that ahahaha o yea and have some goo off ready to take the adhesive that stay after the emblem comes off. Its quite easy.

There is no holes behind the LEXUS and ES300, but there is like 2 hole behind the so i would just leave the L unless you know how to patch it and have paint to go over it then go for it.

would the same concept work for my center caps on my stock chrome rims? and how did you get the emblems off, and then put them back on?
