Broken Sunroof-RX330
#3
Mine did what that thread talks about the other day, too, and I doubt it's related to reprogramming. Every other feature works properly, including opening windows/sunroof using the key fob. My former '05 Subaru Forester with the large panoramic roof had a real hard time closing as soon as it hit the deflector. Pinch protection always kicked in. The fix for that would've been replacing the motor brushes.
To the OP: Make sure the track is clear and clean. It would probably be much cheaper and easier to replace or repair the motor than to buy and replace the whole assembly.

My 2004 RX330 sunroof doesn't open. I hasn't opened since I bought it three years ago.
But it's leaking into the passenger cabin--apparently the drains are clogged.
Is there a way to manually open so I can clean the drains?
Thank you.

I have exactly the same issue. I bought it and the owner said it had a leak before or something or is broken so it's disabled. I don't care about the sunroof but the car developed a leak through the hoses by the sunroof going to the rear. What to do to clean them out?
