Installed the newer 06-10 tai lights today the thing I didn't realize was the top garnish was also way different so I order those today at the dealer. I'll have the body shop tint those when they come in.

Nice. So jealous right now. Did you do the ECU swap too? Or do you plan to just black tape out the dash error light?

No ecu. I can deal with the light. But we are planning on putting a load resistor so it'll turn off with those.

That's a great idea! If you can please detail your procedure with the load resistors with a thread, I would be really interested in following suite! I really hope it works out. I've wanted to do this upgrade for years but can't afford the ECU. I hope it's not too much to ask for a DIY when you get to it, Thanks.

Yeah I'll do one but to be honest it's simply putting a resistor that has the same resistance or load as a light bulb across the positive and negative wires on the lights. Same kind of stuff they use on LED conversion turn signals so they don't hyper blink.

You are so correct and such an easy fix!
Shawn, just google this fix or even look for the answer here on CL.
the important thing is to purchase the correct load resistor and the ohms just needs to be close.
I installed 3ohm resisrors on my sons Tacoma after he installed the LEDs, the hyper blink is gone.

Yeah I understand the concept, but another member and I started digging into LED stop rings and had some issues. No matter what combination of wires we tried the load resistors on with the LED Stop Ring lights, we would repeatedly get a dash light or a short. In the end, Caseone was able to get the right combination but my car continued to throw the dash error or safety protect the circuit. Additionally, he had to add decoders to help control the voltage. So if it works out for you, lbintab, I'd like to see how you specifically wired your lights to avoid the "test phase," again. Here's the thread.

Some more updates to the build. I had to re-align the car again. My toe went really out and almost went through the rear tires. Will be replacing shortly. Also I was able to fine tune the alignment so I clear that rear bumper tab. Has anyone have a solution to move that tab? Anyhow that was done and I also have been working with West Coast Creations in the Bay Area to make a custom laser etched wind deflector. It'll be LED lit. Hasn't finished it yet. They had the glass remade so I'm not using the oem one. The one in the car now is the mock up. The final product will be out soon.
