Do not attempt to open the drain, without making sure that you can open the filler. There are some sad stories about drained diff with stuck filler.

Is it bad to use 75W-90 if 80W-90 is recommended? I called auto parts stores yesterday trying to find Royal purple in 80-90 and one said they had 75w-90 but when I asked if it's ok to use that they said it's better to stick with what the manufacturer recommends. However, several people on here have recommended the 75w-90 so it's ok?

The only advice I can suggest on that issue in the other thread is to have you or someone else listen to it an on an empty street as the vehicle goes by to see if you can localize the sound.
