Lightbulb Official ES350 Tint Thread - add your pics here!

ES350 Members,

I'd like to have a single point of reference for all the tint questions that will come. If you've had your ES350 tinted, please upload pictures to the Club Lexus gallery and link them in this thread (Click here to get to the gallery upload and Method B in this link will tell you how to add pictures if you don't know how).

Please list:
- % tint
- color of your interior (does make a big difference in how dark tint appears)
- type of tint if you know it (smoke, dyed, metalized, etc)
- brand of tint if you know it (3M, Solarguard, Lumaster, etc)

There are a number of good "I got tint" and tine question threads, but I'd like to make one master thread with pictures of each percentage and pictures of different color ES350/different interiors with tint. Here are some of those threads I'll link in if the owners don't:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=tint
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=tint
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=tint
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=tint

From time to time I will prune this thread of comments and questions, leaving only the posts with pictures.

Laws for tint in your state:
I can't vouch that all of these are correct, but Tintdude has a good summary of the max allowed in each state Link here

Here is a link to my original tint thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=234915

Don't have the car anymore (victim of buyback ), but it could be a useful point of reference for anyone with Tungsten Pearl. Exterior was TP, interior was Black, tint 35% (makes it look darker with a black interior), it was metalized (as I learned later), not sure about the brand. I'm in NJ and its illegal to have ANY tint on the front side windows. Of course, that didn't stopped me because car doesn't look right with just rear and side back windows tinted. Also, because of this law in New Jersey, your car can not be inspected and front side windows tint has to be removed for the inspection

I really like the look of this tint on the Smokey Granite Mica color. Here are the tint details:

Brand: Madico
Type: Polyeurathane non-metalic
Shade: 35%

There are more pics at the end of the original thread.

Does anyone have feedback on what % of tint would match the tinted glass panoramic roof on the Ultra? Based on Kaius' picture above, it seems that it would need to be darker than 35%.

I know this is subjective, but how easy is it to see out of the windows (especially backing up) at night with the 20% rear/35% front?

FYI: Around here, 25% for side windows and 10% for back window is the minimums.

i used to have 5% film on my old ES300, on a dark road it was sometimes a bit much.

I have no problem with this car, neither does my wife.
I tint every car I get with the same combo now.
this is a old pic, but you can still see how dark they were even on a sunny day

Nice pic of the ES300 with the dark tint (and the factory 16" wheels from the '00-'01 ES) , but do you happen to have a pic of your tinted ES350 to share since that's what this thread is all about? To everyone else, let's keep this thread strictly related to posting/sharing pics of tinted ES350s.

a few posts up I put my pic of my ES350, then someone asked me about night driving so I was just showing the darker tint and explaining how it affected driving.

Sorry about that.

No worries Rob, I expect some questions and chit chat and we'll clean up the thread from time to time to remove it.

Yes, it was your statement to that effect that lead me to post my question. Didn't know I was going to upset the higher powers.

Ooops, sorry, I guess this is another non-picture post...

35% all around (except windshield):

Please excuse the poor picture quality; also, pic was taken under cloudy/dark conditions

Nice ES350, If my replacement ES turns out to be an Obsidian color like yours I was thinking about having MB install there thin chrome side molding on the ES, I think that would really add more class to the car. Like the chrome wheels too.
