Literally all the Ultra Luxury trims are only available on Carvana...WHY???
I've been hunting for my perfect spec 300h with Ultra Luxury. As you probably know these are exceedingly rare, except for at one location: Carvana. It seems like almost every single ultra luxury model I've come across is only on Carvana. What's almost as frustrating is that almost every one of those is "in the process of being purchased by someone else." So my question is, why? Is Carvana offering UL owners just a lot better price than traditional dealers or other 3rd parties? Second, am I overreacting? I always imagined buying CPO from a Lexus dealership, but maybe Carvana isn't as bad as it seems?
A 5 min search on Edmunds shows 25 nationwide and they don't seem to be on carvana.
I see only 6 on carvana but don't know if there is a max distance filter.

Thanks for the assistance, I appreciate it. On Edmunds there are none within 500 miles of me (SoCal) and I'm not interested in traveling for or shipping this car - sorry it's just not special enough lol.
This is what I was referring to though. It's also always Carvana Escondido too. I've been using Google just to quickly browse vehicles. Not the best I know, but it's quick.
Yes, Carvana pays Google $$$ to show up 1st in their search results! Mystery solved. Reality is subjective and is being sold to the highest bidder. Your attention is the product, be careful how you spend it.

That makes sense as my google search is literally "300h ultra luxury." Hey at least Google is showing me what I want (sort of). If it was hiding ultra luxury models from other websites (which it isn't) then I'd be more annoyed.
What still doesnt make sense is why they're on Carvana and not at dealerships.
My local Lexus dealer's ads do not list the trim levels for their used ES models, these ads will not show up during a search for "Ultra Luxury".
Individual features are listed in the ads, but not the assigned trim level. You may need to review each ad for cars in your area to identify which are classified as "Ultra Luxury".

There is often little difference between 7th Gen. Luxury and Ultra Luxury after the common options are loaded on. I bought my 2024 ES350 Luxury after comparing cars in stock and reading the window sticker information. The only feature unique to UL is the rear side window shades. The only other feature I would have had if I had bought the UL my dealer had in stock was the optional triple beam headlights. Mostly because of the headlights, I saved around $1500 by buying the L trim. I have owned several Toyotas, and the trim level was always advertised on the back end, XLE or Touring in my case. The ES does not have any outward sign of trim level, so you need the sticker or to look for the rear side window shades to tell.
After owning my L a little while, I read some posts here about the cost of repairing triple beams and became glad I do not have them. My advice is to look for a Luxury trim with all the options that make it practically equal to a UL. But study the options and decide what you want before making a purchase.
Here is the option list for my ES350 L:

For 2024 model year, front coil spring, strut and stabilizer bar have the same part numbers for Luxury and Ultra Luxury packages.
If you want the most expensive struts to replace; F-Sport handling package is the choice.
Ultra Luxury models have different suspension than the luxury right? ...
There's no difference in suspensions between the Luxury and Ultra Luxury model types.
If you're thinking of lateral performance dampers, I wouldn't classify those as a suspension feature. Even with that feature, starting with the 2022 model year, all Luxury model types are equipped with lateral performance dampers as a standard feature. (Ref. pdf page 24/brochure page 42 of MY22-Lexus-ES-ESh-Brochure.)
As Arrowrock posted, with the exception of Ultra Luxury exclusive manual rear-door sunshades, starting with IIRC the 2022 model year, you can option up Luxury models to have the same set of features you get with an Ultra Luxury model. Starting with the 2023 model year, an Ultra Luxury feature equivalent optioned up Luxury model was actually a few hundred dollars cheaper than the equivalent built Ultra Luxury model.
Based upon my occasional checking of Lexus ES new car listings in the Southern California area, starting with the COVID pandemic, Lexus ES Ultra Luxury model types for sale were exceedingly rare if not completely nonexistent. The Lexus ES 300h Luxury model type was seen for sale occasionally; however, the vast majority for sale in the Southern California area after the pandemic was either base or base with premium package model types.

Yeah I was thinking of the Yamaha performance dampers. I heard those make the ride a lot smoother. This would change my search significantly. Luxury trim is a lot easier to find. Thank you.
I found when I was shopping for an ES300h that you can get a better deal on a used one at a non-Lexus dealer. Lexus dealers charge more. It can be a bit of a challenge at a non-Lexus dealer to find out the trim level and options on the car though.

Lexus dealers L certify there cars and add what they want for that warranty plus they have to pay for all the amenities they have available.
