Steering wheel does not like to self center
Hello everyone,
Picked up my CPO 2025 IS500 few weeks ago. Found out some issue with steering that it likes to steer to the right few degrees when the car should go straight.
I took it to dealer today they said it's alignment issue. After alignment it was still doing it. And some mentioned it could be the crown of the road doing it. So that's what I did:
I found a small community road and I intentionally drive on the left side of the road when safe. The car then start to self steer to the left.
So the car doesn't like to self center instead likes to "fall" with the crown of the road.
Is it normal with this car because of some suspension geometry? I have driven lots of other cars and on all kinds of crowned road never seen one doesn't self center and likes to self steer to one side.

I would just keep getting alignments. Check out Firestone's Lifetime alignment.

I have never got a single Lexus IS/RC (since 2015) that didn't require an alignment right out of the gate! I think the alignment gets messed up during the shipping/transportation where these get hunkered down or something. If the previous owner never did an alignment, that is why your car likely needed one. I am not sure how bad the roads are there (crown) but where I live/drive, once my alignment is done, teh car will go straight as can be...
Edit: it might be a different issue to the original post but curious if others have noticed similar steering issues.
I have this problem too. Steering feels tight and notchy around center and when I'm turning it almost feels like it gets stuck slightly as I pass center. It's intermittent though and it really only happens at higher freeway speeds above around 50-60mph. It feels like electric motor cogging but sometimes is nice and smooth so seems like it is something going on with the eps motor. I've had it aligned a couple times and it remained even with new wheels and tires. I still need to take it in and looked at under warranty but based on it only happening under specific conditions and not all the time I'm not looking forward to the fight to get it fixed.
