Check Headlight System code
I replaced my front passenger side light assembly with an aftermarket one because my DRL went bad but now I have a check headlight system error on my dashboard. How do I clear it off
Well mate, the 'Check Headlight System' warning on the GX 460 is almost always a communication issue. The factory ECU expects a specific feedback signal from the headlight's internal driver to confirm everything is working.
High quality headlight and well done like for example AlphaRex work because they have an internal decoder built-in that sends the correct 'handshake' signal back to the ECU.
If you bought an aftermarket light that doesn't have that specific internal regulator (how it happened to me) adding a standard external decoder often will not work. Most external decoders only add resistance (to stop flickering), but they don't replicate the feedback signal the Lexus ECU demands.
I still haven't find a fix for this here is what i have done so far for your reference:

I will highly suggest that If you can, return those and get a set with a proven internal decoder, new chinese headlights have them integrated, but always ask the seller and be 110% sure it will work, or get a proven one (like AlphaRex) that the Lexus ECU actually acknowledges.
