How to get best price for 1995 LS400 in great shape?
Looking for some advice on how to get the best value on a1995 LS400 165k miles in great shape. Perplexity told me the same model & year with similar mileage recently sold in Fredericksburg, VA for $13K. Is that realistic? What is a good path forward? Heartbreaker to let her go after 31years but time to let go to a new home.
where are you located? market prices depend on location, but for a very specific (and old) car like the LS400, the beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder!
i don't see breaking $10k at all unless it's a creampuff with all maintenance done with that high mileage.

However, I agree $13k is not realistic at 165k miles in all likelihood, to make a generalization.
I am new to ClubLexus and not so great with the site and how to best use it. I posted some pics. Addressing the question on the underside, it is in great shape. I replaced the A/C last year and all other systems my mechanic says are in great shape. Thanks for the helpful advice. Greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the pics. So, I’m far from an expert but I’ll offer a few thoughts:
This car appears to be in excellent shape. Extremely clean for its mileage. Harder and harder to find these. Black exterior color I think has a wide appeal. Tan interior is kind of neutral, it seems like 80 percent or whatever high percentage of these cars came with a tan interior…
An educated buyer will want to know - has transmission been regularly serviced; timing/water pump/cam seals and crank seal last done when?; how old is power steering pump and rack; what is status of suspension maintenance; has the starter been replaced at least once (real b—-h of a job). At your current mileage certainly you’ve had to replace some of the front suspension, and is any of the rear still on original suspension? The original rear suspension seems to hold on for quite a while but you are at mileage where it seems to start to go.
If you want to maximize price, this car appears to be of the caliber that you could sell on cars and bids or BAT. I do wonder, and I’m probably overthinking it, whether gas prices / Iran stuff is putting any kind of damper on demand for our big V8 boats. I don’t know about all the work involved in listing on one of those sites, maybe someone else will comment, but you can reach a broad audience that way. You’ll want to PDR that hood dent and any others if you go that route, I think, within reason.
If I had to pull a number out of my you know what, ASSUMING major maintenance is current, the most I’d ask for on FB Marketplace is start at $10k, and if you’re ready to move on, take the first serious offer at $7-$8k or above. Get ready for at least a few clowns to message you with “I can bring $3k and be there right now.” Post as much information as you have about the car and maintenance history in the original listing otherwise you will be answering 50 times via messenger when the timing belt was changed last. Also have your shop or friend do you a favor and throw the car up on a lift and grab some underside pics.
Nice LS!!

Looks like your car is in great shape for 165k miles. Would I be wrong to think it's painted in Ebony Teal Pearl and not Black? Ebony Teal is a very rare color and almost looks black but has a green pearlescent layer, which I seem to see in yours.
How does the steering wheel look underneath the cover? Interior looks great
I would highly consider looking into selling your car on CarsAndBids or BringATrailer. CarsAndBids does not have a commission if I remember correctly. These cars sell for slightly less there on average but still a very respectable price. BaT has more fees last time I checked, but this may have changed.
For context, my friend listed his White Pearl 1996 with 80k miles 2 years ago on Facebook Marketplace in New Jersey for $15k and ended up selling privately for $12.5k after about 1.5 months listed. The car had all service done except for a rear wheel bearing and a brake master cylinder needed (he included the parts in the sale).
Go slow with your sale and don't overthink it. Good luck

Good catch and I stand corrected on that I agree with you!
Check the paint code on the door jamb to confirm exactly what color the car is painted. Car looks great. I think it will sell for around 10K if all maintenance is up to date and it needs nothing. Check the local sales market to confirm the pricing.
