Default "07 Headlight Replacement -needs advice

I heard an impact sound in the front while I was heading back from the mechanic to fix the controls arms issue. I didn't comprehend the damage a pebble or bolt could cause until I got home. The lens on the passenger side headlight is broken to pieces :-(

I couldn't find any information about DIY headlight replacement vs. having done by a mechanic for labor only.

I have seen brand-new OEM headlights from Lex or Fleabay that cost $2600 and $1K, respectively, and they won't even match the other headlight's patina for that much money :-) On Flebay, there are also used items with damaged lens and tabs, but it will be a big gamble.

Is there another aftermarket or other solution available to deal with this problem?

Check if the lens only is replaceable, if so remove the headlight and swap the lens out. If not buy a nice used on and polish both it and the other remaining headlight so they match.

Yes, that was my approach up until I realized that mine had the headlight washer, or "winter package" In the end, I am now even further limited to replacing it with the exact identical model that comes with the winter package or no else (because even replacing both headlights with OEM but non "winter pkg"-washer option will lead to probable ECU errors next).

I came across an old topic that may be about replacing just the lenses, but I'm not sure because that particular model with the headlight washer is just nonexistent.

Clearly -didn't "see" that one coming -Literally :-)

Just get a used one from a junk yard, the headlight washer only checks for if headlights are on or off as it only washes if headlights are on. I got a junk yard HID for my LS400 when it ate a Prius and worked fine.

Looks like there's a Prius hunting season open. My friend's Prius got eaten by Lexus last week as well. I told him to ditch the Prius, get Lexus and move up the food chain. LMAO.

Thanks for the information on the washer. Used on fleabay the assembly goes for ~$500 shipped if you get lucky, and don't end with too many broken tabs or FAS missing/messed up etc...

How about the installation? What could be the labor be ~ ?

Found this info and quite more

It's a lil messy but I bought 2 lens covers for like $200 online and named the headlights and sealed them back up. Did it all in a day and then let it sit for another day.

Thank you, and given that you will need to remove the headlight in the first place and that my headlight is operating properly, a lens replacement makes the most "sense" in my situation. Naturally, it will be ideal to do both at once.

sorry this now requires photo's was a 20 MPH crash. Just replaced light, bumper cover, fender and steering rod for about $500 total. Prius airbags deploys and driver window failed, totaled. Those LS400's are a TANK!
