Any RX300 owner loves seeing other owners rack up the miles on their Lexuses. Here are five forum members that prove Lexus is a durable Japanese machine that can go on for almost forever.

Unfortunately, I got rear ended with little over 1/4 million miles on my RX and the insurance company totaled it. Purchased from the dealer with 2 miles on the odo.

The only non OEM parts on it were the lower control arms. Every sensor, every screw, bolt, gasket were OEM and the only visible wear items were the seats. No issues with engine or transmission. The only time it did not start was when the battery was dead. Drove 15 miles to home with a broken accessory belt. The accident broke the trailing arm and positioning arm. Tow guy watched me drive up the hill on 3 wheels. What a way to go.

I've read your thread about the accident, it was sad. I have a 1999 AWD RX and it recently crossed the 97,000 mile mark. I special ordered it and it has been the best vehicle I've ever owned, but right now it has a battery charger hooked up to it. I was going to pull it out of the garage and it was completely dead, no click, nothing. Lexus batteries are horrible, I get between 2 to 3 years out of them and they die. I hope you're enjoying your new Lexus!

Cool

In 2016 I ran into a lady with 495,000 miles on her 2000 RX300 she was buying a new RX350 here in So Cal. I bought a 2001 RX300 in Oct 2015 with 130,000 now 155,000 will run it to 250,000 I use all synthetic oil in every thing trans, motor PS using mobile 1 oils.. I ran 1986 Toyota Cressida 529,000 nothing wore out and 1991 LexusLS400 390,000 and it is still on the road somewhere in So Cal again used synthetic oils in all cars.

I have done valet parking part time for the past 5 years, always look forward to parking a 1st gen Lexus RX and looking at the mileage. Believe it or not, they're still pretty popular around where I live, even ones with a ton of miles still look nice and clean. I think the last one I parked was 268k, but I think the best I saw was one with 389k, still not a rip in the driver's seat amazingly enough. All those higher mile cars drove and ran great, still felt tight, no warning lights on the dash, I guess people that own cars with that many miles are pretty diligent about maintaining them. Compared to the older German and British(Land Rover and Jags) crap I see with more than 100k miles, they're usually falling apart on the interior, gauge cluster lit up like a christmas tree with warning lights, burnt out pixels and screens, etc.

I had 189k on my 99 RX300, saw it a few months ago, I guess since I sold it in 2010 that is a good sign.
My new to me RX400h has 209 K miles.

My RX300 is at 247,000 miles and still runs as new. But, It's no longer my daily driver, primarily driving my 14' ES350 now. Ideally, will get the RX to 300,000 miles before getting rid of it; but that make take much longer now. lol

I hope you don't mind my clarifying:

When you say OEM, do you mean purchased through Toyota/Lexus, or do you mean that you used the appropriate OEM brand for the replacement?

We bought ours new in June 1999. Been through my wife and three kids before we put it out to pasture as a 3rd/backup/hauler car. Still runs well but it is showing its age. 189,000 miles.

There is no doubt that I will get there... even without my fingers crossed!

Good on you guys for posting very logical scenarios... not dreams....

I have 252K miles. I'm gonna keep it 3 more years and give it one of the children who thinks it's not cool looking. I say "it's free. Take it or leave it."

I have a 2000 RX300 I purchased new, It has 212000 miles on it and it is still running great. I did not have to change by break pads until it had about 190000 miles on it, no one believes it.

My daughter's 2001 RX300 has 230,000 and going strong. Does have CEL now, so this weekend or next I get to do both A/F sensors, but otherwise a great car! I work in a Toyota factory, and know our quality standards are there for a reason. Gotta love Toyota/Lexus quality.
