Darryl still offers his services via ebay. He has done quite a few of our members NAV units on here. I even talked to him about doing mine; but I found a used, local NAV unit to replace my bad one.
So my touch screen stopped working today after 10.5 years of owning my '07 Lexus (Oct 2006 purchase date). When I press on the screen, the map just moves to the right. Based on my research, the digitizer is broken. So I'm going to buy a digitizer from eBay for about $24 and try and replace it myself. This is likely a heat related issue as it has been scorching hot here in Texas. Just a couple of days ago, my car was displaying 115 degrees for the outside temp, the hottest I have ever seen it. I do wish Lexus had made these sturdier or had issued a recall notice as it seems to be a pretty common problem. I'm still getting recall notices for other problems and this should have been one too.
Lexus didn't make the LCD screen components. I believe it was Toshiba. If the new digitizer doesn't work out for you, you can always replace the entire screen, which includes a new digitizer.
Only $36 currently. I bought mine a couple years ago for $44 from Amazon. It's still working and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a whole new head unit, which is what Lexus says you have to do at $1,200.

you are right, toshiba make LCD and built NAV unit for Lexus as well.
Disassembled the enitre NAV unit today and removed the old digitizer (a very challenging task), then I put on a new digitizer I got from ebay advertised as being for the 2007 Lexus IS, 7.3". It fit perfectly, the touch issue is now resolved, but there is a terrible rainbow effect. After reading some reviews, it seems this is a common problem with some digitizers. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a way to fix it, like by placing a special screen cover over the screen? Or is the only solution to find an OEM or closer to OEM digitzer.
The seller on Ebay is telling me that I left one of the protective covers on. I can't recall if I took both of them off or just one. Is it possible that leaving a cover on would cause this effect? It's gonna be a pain to open it up again.
My navigation screen suddenly went full white. All the buttons and radio still function. And when I touch the screen it gives me feedback and makes the sound that I'm clicking something. But the screen just stays blank white and I can't see anything. This is a 2007 Lexus IS350. Any ideas?
