Default Where to purchase oil filter etc from?

I always like to use oem parts and filters on my vehicles. Is there a vendor or a place you guys like to order everything from?

I usually get it from this guy, comes with correct filter, and new washer for the drain bolt and the rubber ring for the filter canister lid. Cheap and fast shipping.

I buy oil from Amsoil (5W30 Signature Series) and buy my Mobile 1 oil filters from these folks. Best prices and great service.

I see no reason to order oil filters online when you can go to your local lexus parts department. They sell the filter with oring for around $9 CAD. Thats like $6 or $7 USD.

You get it the same day, no shipping.

Dealer parts department for me too, for something as inexpensive as an oil filter, shipping is going to wipe out any potential savings from buying online.

I prefer Amsoil because they are the leaders in the synthetics industry and use one of the most substantial molecule packs and virgin stock (never reconditioned). For some folks the dealer oil (bulk) and filter is good enough and that's a perfectly fine oil (I am under the impression Mobil bottles all of Toyota's oils and lubricants). Toyota has been transitioning to Synthetics and more of their vehicles are using it (Mobil again). Denso makes the filters for Toyota/Lexus and they're a good company.

I think it's worth requesting a synthetic oil from the dealer if that's where you get your oil changed. For a few bucks more you get a superior oil over the mineral based.

The only issue I would think about is the problem the IS250 has with crankcase ventilation and excessive carbon build up in the heads and cylinders. The Synthetics might not burn off as well as a mineral based oil and could cause the problem to be worse. As a suggestion I would SEAFOAM the top end of the engine through the intake manifold and PCV hose to get rid of that buildup on a regular basis (Before every oil change). Using a engine wash like Amsoils Engine Flush http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produc...code=FLSHCN-EA is probably a good idea too.

You obviously are not buying them from Park Place Lexus in Plano (Dallas area) TX. They charge you full Lexus list price for the filter and also charge you for the gaskets that are inside the box!

FWIW, I buy my filters from parts.com
