Definitely, maybe because the market for hydrodipping is so limited so for those who run that business make that extra money (supply and demand). I can honestly say I swore I thought the carbon fiber I saw on my friends lip and spoiler was real carbon fiber until he told me it was hydrodipped.

 

Is hydrodipping reversible if u decided to sell your car later on?

 

From the best of my knowledge, I believe it isn't. But hey, good thing is that the cover will fit your mirrors perfectly since it's technically OEM

Did these have the adhesive already installed? Do you peel all the adhesive backing off before install or do you just peel partially to adjust?

 

the covers on ebay already have adhesive installed, but its usually not enough. I had to add some along the edges on the bottom and the top.
In my humble opinion it looks much better with the bottom neck wrapped as well, ill have to get this done as mine remains the stock color.

 

@rmreddy5: I'd suggest test-fitting the mirror covers without adhesive first. From what I understand these are handmade and therefore do not provide a 100% perfect fit.
In addition, the adhesive tape is not good enough to allow an adequate alignment - at least in my case. Polyurethane adhesive was applied to reassure the covers won't come off over time and black vinyl was used to cover the few edges where the CFRP covers didn't align properly (slight deviation, mentioned in this thread).

I agree with slickster9, to wrap the bottom neck of the mirrors unless you own a black IS. However, I wouldn't use that cheap looking "carbon trim" since it goes against the idea of using real CFRP parts for looks in the first place... Black vinyl or better yet black paint will do.
