Those pis are without clear bra yet. My mirrors were previously wrapped in 3M CF and yes there are slight areas where 3M CF is exposed. I really like the covers, also really liked my 3M until these mirror covers came out.
Hmm, so if you have non-black mirror caps or didn't wrap it, you'll see the original mirror cover (i.e. Ultra White) peeking through the bottom?
It's so small you would never see it unless you kneeled down and looked under the mirror. That angle of the picture is like completely underneath the mirror. And again it's CF and an aftermarket product so can't completely expect perfection. I would buy it over again. Really great addition
14is350, any tips on how to vinyl wrap the mirror base? Is there any edge overlap or were you able to get the wrap around the base in one smooth finish?
Just pull and stretch vinyl around base in circular motion. Your going to need to manipulate the mirror head itself closed, regular position and then open in order to finish off the top off the base just folding the vinyl on top. You'll never actually see the top because the mirror should normally be in its regular position unless you're folding it in while in park, so if its not perfect, don't stress.
here you are. A bit overcast today but you get the idea
Dang man, loving your car! I hate to ask again, but could you post a photo or two when its sunny out with the new carbon mirrors? I have a white IS250 myself and definitely getting the feel for this!
Just wondering, has anyone considered getting their OEM mirrors hydrodipped? In SoCal, I was quoted about $100 for both of them. I've seen hydrodipped products in person and they look like the real deal (if they do a good job). That way, the cover will fit 100%
