I'm not surprised and actually kind of relieved. In SoCal, I see a ton of CT's around and would appreciate having a car that is more unique among the plethora of cars out there. Also, if they made a new CT model I'd be kinda jelly

lol i guess everyone wanted to have the hybrid MPG, but in style.
I wouldn't mind seeing a HS200t, if that ever becomes a thing, if people want hybrids. With the price of gas being pretty low, though, I think hybrids in general aren't as desirable as they once were.
i have serious doubts it will be discontinued. the CT was low production to test the waters but it flew off the lots. the CT brought people in their 20s to Lexus dealerships and got them to stay. going back to the ugly and inefficient HS would be a mistake. young people like hatchbacks, look at the Mazda 3. doing anything but a slight update and ramping up production would be a mistake. if nothing else, they should keep it as a CAFE compliance vehicle.
then again, we're talking about the same parent company that is pushing hydrogen FCVs.
The UX will do well because in general SUV's/CUV's do very well and people love the space, utility and ruggedness.
I think Lexus should keep and expand the CT luxury hatchback. The CT 200h did a much better job than the Audi A3 hatchback. The A3 sedan appears to be doing well.
I know people that have a Juke even though they think the it is ugly, but its small size and the fact that you sit higher up were the big selling points for them. They just couldn't find something similar. So this might be a decent way for Toyota/Lexus to go.
Just what Lexus needs.....another SUV/CUV. BLEH! Here in KY people look at me like "What is tha.....oh...a Lexus?!"
That's funny. Just to the right of you over here in WV nobody blinks when they see a Lexus SUV or whatever else. They see the CT and don't know what's going on and always give compliments, sometimes saying something like "I didn't know Lexus made such a small car, it looks so cool."
I've also had people say while they don't want to own one because it's a hybrid, if it was a 2.0L turbo they'd trip over themselves to the dealer to buy one because they love the way it looks and handles but not so much the performance.
