Default How was your intercooler mounted?

Just curious to know intercooler sizes and how it was mounted?
Especially those that are more or less 24x12x3... How much was the bumper modified for it to fit? Appreciate the help..thanks

I had to take off the bumper support. Don't really need it anyway. If you crash , your screwed with or without it. We ran a custom bracket on each side that bolted into stock holes. And lastly, the inside of the bumper needed a litle shaving for the piping. I have heard of some people cutting the bumper support and rewelding it. Hope that helps, here's a pic before the bumper was put back on.

I didnt really need any cutting besides on the side vents of my l-sportline. I'm using a Tiny greddy intercooler for the time being. Came off my honda crx.

I have mine semi mounted in right now. I had to bend the AC lines a little bit for the intercooler to fit. Problem is that I'm running 3" piping. There's a piece of the support that's in the way. Did you guys cut it or what?

I wish I would have seen this post earlier as I had my intercooler off these past couple weeks while geting some paint work done. I could have measured it. Mine sits about even witt the top of the crash bar but fit pretty good behind there. We don't have a lot of room on these cars so piping wasn't easy. We customized the piping. If you look the left intake side piping is 2.5 inches and the right throttle is 3 inch coming from the engine. It looked funny going into the intercooler that way cuz you would see one pipe smaller than the other on the sides of the intercooler so they customized the piping half way down on the intake side and converted it from 2.5 to 3 so that it would match up when connecting into the the intercooler on both sides. This was done more for cosmetic reasons cuz I have openings on my front bumper where you can see the intercooler and also the piping going in.

I don't have pics of it uninstalled but it goes up the back side of the crash bar a lot more than the pic shows. Almost to the top of it. I just dropped it off today at my shop.

edit- its a megan 28x12x3. I just looked it up.

Thanks Jeff and Adrian.

Just trying to see which is going to be the easiest or i guess the best way to do it. The way Adrian's is set up is the way i was thinking about doing it. Which is to cut out the inside of the bumper support. Appreciate the feedback guys. Thanks.

My intercooler appears to be like the Jeff has.
keep them coming

Here is mine as you can see we also removed the cross beam but installed the intercooler below the supports that are blockiing you.

Mine is 4" thick and I'm using 3" piping, it was a tight fit but it went in, had to do a little banging, little cutting etc...But it works. Here is a pic:
