I have an idea. Is it hard to remove the grille to create a badge less mesh one, i.e. remove the slat piece from the chrome surround and form a mesh insert? Possibly leave one slat for support and paint it black.
Would be cool to cut the oval L out and form custom OEM style badgeless slats. I get this from the VW community I was in decades ago. Badgeless grills were a right of passage.
Is it true that the bumper must be removed? That seems really extreme.
Dumb question, any aftermarket offerings? OEM JDM options?
