All right guys so I'm going to start with I hope I got lucky here I could use some help figuring out what exactly to check out to make sure everything is sound I know the engine runs so clean you can bearly tell when it's running or not car bought at 114k miles
Now its mine Pretty clean for what i paid Could be worse
First and foremost, check the ball joints. They are a problem area. Then check the other suspension components. Bushings, boots, ect. Also make sure your door locks are actually locking. The locks on these cars are prone to failing.
Congrats, looks to be in good condition. Check to see if there is a sticker on the engine for the timing belt / water pump change. If not I would schedule to have that done in the not-too-distant future. I use Leather Honey on my seats to rejuvenate the leather works wonders. It's better than your average leather conditioner. Leave on overnight and wipe off the next day.
I bought the car in Missouri but I noticed it had a Kansas title however the carfax is clean. The 02 was bought at 114k for $4000 which was my biggest reason I asked about if there s anything I need to watch for I've owned a couple lexus in the past now but this is my first gs and I fell in love with it i loved my ls430 but this car seems a little more fun even if not quite as luxurious. Over time do expect to see this car built up over time I wanna make it even better there are all ready some parts on the way
I will have to check on the tires those came on the car soon as taxes come back I'm getting new lights all the way around some nicer lexus rims either chrome or black chrome new tires with obviously, installing a double din and small system and depending on my full tax return it may get a new paint job.
It's not really go big or go home I just get good tax returns from my two jobs and there is more to it then just doing a lot to the car I lost my favorite lexus to a bad crash and I planned on giving the car some love to bring it as close as I can to my old baby. lol
Or wait until you have symptoms or can show that a part will possibly go bad?
Would you replace a battery because it didn't start the car? Wouldn't you test it first to see how it is?
