It's all subjective I suppose. I thought the current Edge was a bit too plain, and looked a bit too much like the 1st gen. I really like the updates they showed today and would likely consider the new ST trim if we needed a new crossover soon.

To me, the thought of eliminating the normally aspirated engines is disappointing. I understand that only turbos will be available on the new Nautilus and Edge. Turbos apply consistent pressure to the engine, make it run so much hotter and are so complex. In the long run will fail leaving you with a steep bill for a vehicle under 10 yrs old.

This sounds like a statement from the 1980s. Most modern turbos have been quite reliable, with a few notable exceptions like the "hot vee" configuration in the BMW N63. My 7-year-old twin turbo (I've had it for 5) has shown no signs of strain, and is currently at 82k miles running a fairly aggressive aftermarket tune. A friend of mine has daily driven a tuned Jetta 1.8T for the past 18 years and almost 300k miles, with no turbo-related maintenance. The entire Audi lineup has been either turbo or supercharged for more than a decade, except for a couple of low-volume models like the S5 and R8, and Consumer Reports ranks them as the second most reliable Luxury brand, behind only Lexus, and the 4th most reliable among all brands. That would never happen if their engines were grenading themselves with great regularity. Ford has sold over a million Ecoboost F150s alone in the past 6 years, and there are no widespread problems being reported. this guy put 205k on his with no engine issues whatsoever.
And to further clarify, no turbos do not apply consistent pressure to the engine. They only do so under load, such as when accelerating. When lightly-loaded, the wastegate or diverter valve is often fully open, meaning there's no boost whatsoever. Combine this with the lower compression ratio that most turbo motors have, and there is actually less stress on the engine under many conditions.

I don't see a problem at all with separating the lights from the grille. It adds some visual pizzazz and extra style, whereas the current look is a little plain. Only problem now is Audi (new Q8) and Ford have nearly identical fronts. Makes Ford look ritzier and Audi look cheaper (?).
The crazy high hood though... that is bad. So are the vertical tailpipes on the ST. The circular ones on the standard model are also dated. They should just offer the rectangular ones on the Limited/Platinum across the board. Black plastic connecting the taillights appears cheap. Losing the gearshifter is also a great loss for those who want to rest their right hand on something during extended drives.
