Default Triple Beam Headlights

Does anyone know if you can replace the regular headlight assembly with the triple beam headlights?
I would love to hear from people that have done this.

You can but it is really expensive to convert them.

This topic was discussed numerous times.

The wiring harness is different.

It won't work unless you can re-wire the connection & bypass the computer module some how.

I think anything is possible but you would need to convert it which is going to cost.

If you have headlights with AFS it's plug and play.
There is a guy on here who did it to his F-Sport, but had to do some modification to the wiring so the AFS light doesn't turn on.
If you have base GS 350/450h, you need to swap the headlight swivel ECU with the correct one for AFS to work.

I actually got a great deal on a set of used led headlights.
One came from a car that was in an accident but the headlight was not damaged. I got it for $800
The other one is was new in an insurance repair, the collision center broke a tab, and the insurance company made them buy another one. The shop sold it to a local parts recycling center and I bought it for 1k
It was a clean break so I'm just plastic welding the tab back on.

I previous scored one on eBay for $550, but the black plastic trim on the inside was dislodged so I returned it for a refund.

I use this website to search all the used parts places:
https://www.hollanderparts.com/
Also eBay. Took me about a month to find two good headlights. If you search for it you'll find good deals.

I plan on reporting back when I install this next year when the weather gets warmer. Swapping the headlights requires taking the bumper off.

If you factor the $800 or so I'll get for my current headlights the cost of the mod is not much if you DIY and get a good deal on it.

Let me make sure I understand this statement. I have a 2017 GS Luxury package (not F-Sport). It has the Adaptive Front Lighting System. Would this mean the triple-LED lights would be plug and play? I just buy the part and install it, without any modifications to wiring harnesses, etc.?

Yes at least for 2013-2015. Im not aware of anyone who tried the swap on a 2016+ GS, but i'm assuming it's the same since people here have done the facelift to 2016+ GS.

I know clublexus member SNiiP3R did the direct swap on his 2013 GS luxury

Even if you don't have the luxury package with AFS headlights, it will still work but you would have to get the correct headlight swivel ECU for AFS to work.

For anyone that wants to know here is the location/removal instructions for the headlight swivel ECU

Triple beam lights don't swivel. They go up and down, but don't turn side to side when turning.

The Bi-LED headlights for the 2013 Lexus GS go up and down and side to side.

These are the headlights I'm referring to:
