its a good idea, but don't get me wrong, if its still in the center grill i rather leave it in the orignal spot or do the tow hook route. The best is no plate in the front, not worry about getting pulled over, its those meter maids you have to worry about they will eat you alive.

It's a butterfly anchor, found in almost every hardware store.
Bassically, it sits behind the grille as mounting support for the license plate.

Best pic i got right now. you mount it anywhere you want on the spindle grill, i opted for the lowest part possible.

Dealer will drill holes in bumper in California prior to delivery no exception. It's required by law.

false. its required by law, but you can elect to install the front plate yourself. they make you sign a paper which states this.

I live in CA. Prior to delivery of my car, I had to option to install the front plate bracket, I opt out of course.
However, some dealers pre-install the bracket during the PDI (Pre delivery Inspection).

Not true, none my CA Lexus vehicles have had front drilling
They do protect themselves though by having you sign a form basically stating you requested no front plate and assume all responsibility otherwise

I know but isn't this thread the point of NOT having drill holes? How long does it take to take on/off the regular license plate? Probably even faster than using custom mount.
