Check out the build of whiteis33

He has a 2017 and changed his lights to the triple beam. Not sure if the 2014 front bumper will be a direct swap to the 2017 once you update your headlights.

Ill buy your OEM lights when you're ready to let them go.

Wiring of Zenki headlamps (2014-2016) will be different than Kouki (2017+)
Wiring harness is not going to be plug and play as it changed a little bit.

Taillamps wiring is unknown at this moment as nobody has tried yet that I know of.

Everything else (bumper, muffler and diffuser) will be bolt on affair after

I’ve seen his build, loves beautiful. I sent him a PM a little while back trying to find out the best way to get the lights from a Japan Source. I have the part numbers but I haven’t had any luck finding them. I have seen a couple of bids on Yahoo Japan but I don’t know how to go about buying and having them ship to me. Anyways it’ll all work out when I’m ready to make the move if I do.
As to the bumper, I am really hoping to be a direct swap. Hopefully all I would need would be bumper, lower and upper grille, lower trim and grille sorround.

I am thinking on getting male or female harnesses that match 17 model headlight and make or female harness that match 2014 wiring so that I can splice these two together without cutting wires from the car. My question would still be. Would I need to buy the Ballast or computer with the Japan headlights or can I use the ones from my car? If not, could I use a ballast/computer module from a 17 US IS?

Thats a question best answered by whiteis33 as he has had first hand experience in doing the swap.
I assisted him but not in person in helping him get his hands on the set. From what he has told me, the setup was plug and play for him but I am not sure what was on his headlamp or if he needed to swap anything over.
The plugs he had shown me during the process definitely do not look like anything from the "older" car. His plug looks to have less wiring going to the headlamp plug.

Hopefuly I can get him to contribute to this post. Would like to get an idea to what he went through. Is it possible you can help me get ideas on how to get the lights from Japan?

Can confirm SpecOne's statement "Everything else (bumper, muffler and diffuser) will be bolt on affair after"

I swapped diffuser and muffler onto 2015 and it was a plug and play.

Will be following this thread

Awesome thanks for the info. I want to swap the diffuser but want to keep my F-Sport exhaust and find a way to make it work with the square tips. Maybe cutting the tips from the F-Sport and adding a peace to attach to the square part? I juts don’t think the F-Sport looks good with the 17 diffuser. And I like the classic look of the square tip.

I did just that. I had a f-sport exhaust installed with the 2017 diffuser and the I bought the OEM 2017 muffler tips. The muffler shop chopped off the tips and then welded on the 2017 tips

Quick update. Might take a while for me to complete the retrofit but I am going to do it. All except tail-lights. Any help on saving money on parts needed to do swap, will be appreciated.
I purchased a front used bumper from a 17 yesterday. Will need to take it into shop and have it repaint. I will also need to get front grille items. in the future.
Got prices for the lights brand new without ballast.
ballast can be swaps from 2017 original LED’s headlights or purchased in US. Price is way high. Will need to save some money. Little steps.
Thank you all for looking. I’ll update once I get the parts.
