Default Dome light arghhh!

How the hell are you guys taking out the dome light assembly to change the light bulbs. It’s freaking impossible without breaking it all. Is anyone having success. My neighbor who is good with cars couldn’t take it out either.

There is a thread or two that describes it. I wound up using a 1" putty knife or you can use plastic body tools. Pry between the lens and the housing on the side away from the main housing assembly. The lens will pop out without a lot of effort.

Get yourself a set of plastic trim removal tools for a few bucks off Amazon, great for prying off lenses and take apart stuff without scratching or denting the plastics. Most led kits will come with a free plastic pry tool.

Just did it. Small, skinny screwdrivwer into two slots on outside edge of each lens. Then, 2 screws and the whole thing will come out, simply unplug the connector.

Okay I got the lens off, now I can’t get the bulb out. What do u do without breaking the bulb. It’s in their tight. It seems locked in by the metal surrounding it

How the hell do you guys keep the dome light bulb in it’s terrible designed housing ?!? Those two metal prods that stick out barely contain the bulb and often loses contact.

i tried to gentle bend those 2 prongs but still no use. still loses contact occasionally. Drives me nuts, it looks like the bulb is burnt out half the time.

Maybe the bulbs you have are slightly too small. I have never had a problem with the OEM bulbs.

Sometimes Chinese manufacturers take liberties with what cars their parts will fit.
