Default Original SC430 CD player

Hi, does anyone know the details of the CD player installed in SC430 ? The Original brand n Equipment Maker ? The code ?

I am doing a trial n error trouble shooting of my buffering CD music. So starting with the player.

Many thanks for your help. I had searched the forum but couldn’t locate similar issue & info.

LOL. We have everything.

By the way, it's been 40 years since I have been to Singapore. Which side is the steering wheel on? All of the Service Manuals, including the AMP are under the "Mark Levinson - My Story" thread.

Wow Paul, I can’t thank u enough for the detailed info n prompt reply. Guess my mechanic will be kept busy trouble shooting for me.

LOL u studied in Singapore? Bukit Timah is the posh upmarket residential area. Living the good
life, Paul ? I live in the East at the end of Upper East Coast Road so very accessible to the seaside. After 40 years’ absence, it is high time u revisit Singapore. We can meet up. I will drive u to your school. 🤪Let me know.

Oops apologies, Bgw70. Mistook u for Paul. Well, u are both welcome back to Singapore. We are Covid-friendly 😂.

1979-82…. I was working in New Zealand then just after finishing my university there. I returned to Singapore in 1982. Do come back soon. Cheers

The CD & Radio are made by Pioneer. It is actually the same radio (Different Shell) that was in the 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird
The CD is not known for it's longevity. You can find a video on Youtube on how to try and fix it.

I have been to Singapore a couple of times, had a wonderful experience. Everything is so clean and the people are outstanding

DashingDaryl, invaluable info. Challenge for me is finding someone here who can repair CDs n is conversant with the car’s electronics. I am a tech idiot who needs help from my son to re-size a file attachment. 😉 My experience with most workshops here is that they are just interested in overhauling, including the speakers, as these bring them better revenue. Regardless, armed with the video I shall seek out some friends for referrals to such experts. Thanks again.
BTW, several members have posted their positive experiences on their Singapore visits. Perhaps u might consider holidaying here ? End of this month is the F1 night race again & end of October is the inaugural Tour de France here. Come, I can host u & show u around 🤪

Gman, do u own the T shirt ? : Singapore is a “Fine” city ? In addition to monetary fines on chewing gums & litterings, u can now add not clearing food trays in the hawker centers.

Hi Doobs,
If u like the F1 night race, u should
like Tour de France ? More international celebrities n pop singers performing plus carnival events in store. Skip the casinos, Garden by the Bay is a great place instead.

Hi DshngDaryl,

Having confessed above that I am a tech idiot, guess I am forgiven for asking a silly question :

The CD unit ( n radio ) is an integral part of the entire head unit. So even if it is the CD player that is acting up, I need to replace the entire head unit ie not possible to replace just the CD player ?

Many thanks again

Hi DshngDaryl n all,

Saw YouTube videos on a Pioneer AVH-Z9200 head unit. This was successfully installed in a SC430 with many new functions eg CarPlay, Music streaming/Spotify, CD , navigation etc. It retains the maple wood head unit flipping cover n also volume controls on steering wheel !!

I’d greatly appreciate inputs from anyone who has installed or reviewed this.

I googled for the price but strangely couldn’t find the model.
