Default SC430 electrical issues

Hi, I’m new to posting but a long time reader of this forum. Wondering if anyone can help with some electrical issues with my SC430 that have been occupying my time over the 2 weeks…
First thing I noticed was the dash cluster not working (speedo, tacho, temp and fuel gauges)
I found by pulling the MPX-B2 fuse and then putting it back in the dash would come back to life until about 5 minutes after the key was turned fully off.
Now I’ve noticed that the VSC isn’t working and the VSC lights are on in the dash display. Pulling the same fuse and then putting it back in again remedies this until the car moves then the lights come back on.
Also the high beam isn’t working although the blue light in the dash lets you know it should be on high beam. Headlights just stay on low beam regardless of switch position.
I’m wondering if these issues are somehow related as there had been no issues with the car previously.
Any thoughts welcome and thanks in advance.

Any chance that this was a flood vehicle? This sounds like a bunch of dirty contacts. It is also possible that this is a localized set of contacts that have gotten wet, like from a windshield leak or something. But that is my best guess at the moment with the limited information currently available.

You have three separate issues:

1. Instrument cluster. Did you fix it by pulling the fuse? If not, could be the wiring.
2. VSC light. It can be reset using paper clip method.
3. High beam. Could be wiring.

Do you have rodent infestation ? Look for the drops around the engine bay.

I would recommend you google "clublexus.com sc430 skid control ecu" and see if your problems match the ones in the posts.

A bad ecu usually causes the speedometer not to work and the VSC lights to come on. I do not know if it effects the rest of the gauges (that is where the reading comes in)

If you think it is the ECU, you can always check by buying a cheap one on ebay and putting it in to see if it resolves the problem.

My theory is that pulling the fuse resets the ECU, but once it starts doing it's thing, it errors out causing your problems.

I agree with @DshngDaryl and suspect it is the Skid Control Module, aka the Skid Control ECU. I had most, if not all, of the same symptoms, and a used Skid Control Module fixed everything. There is some discussion of the issue in this thread, mixed in with unrelated audio issues I was having.

The replacement part is very expensive to buy new. I recommend getting a used one from ebay and putting it in yourself if you confirm the Skid Control Module to be the problem. It does not take much skill, but you need to be somewhat nimble to get at it under the dash.
