This give me a more visible interior area.

It now just a matter of customizing the NAV mechanical box and retrofit it with custom bracket and interior guts to hold the 1/2 units.
Good to see high quality audio kit still in use but I think it will be quite a challenge to fix it in place and still have the navi door working.as it's such an odd shaped metal housing.

Close up of the shallow screen housing within the casing. The screen tilts via a long worm gear attachment, the door mechanism is above, to the back and to the side of the nav unit.

Ok, so after taking out the NAV unit and evaluating my options to see if I can design a custom housing there is definitely no space to fit these two half DIN units.

It's just too tight to fit them because of depth limitation.

I guess I will leave the NAV location for a future project.

This said I will be moving forward to making a custom enclosing in the center arm rest location to fit both units and after initial measurements they will fit with no problem.

It even leaves some left over space to still use for storage.

Will try to keep this post updated as I go along on this.
