TL;DR: Im replacing the whole stereo(including amp so impedance doesnt matter) and need confirmation on rear speaker size. Looking for examples/experience of people replacing their rear speakers with either 4" or 5.25 off the shelf products from major audio manufacturers.
I've searched to find anyone's actual experience with replacing the rear speakers in a Mark Levinson SC430, and though I keep getting the sizing chart, I have not found anyone who has actually replaced the rear speakers with aftermarket units. I know everyone moves towards replacing the surrounds, but I am going to replace the whole stereo given its age with a new 5 channel amp, interior 6x9 components, and sub. I have the measurements for everything other than the rear speakers and wanted to ask if 4" or 5.25" have been used. 12cm as a size is confusing since it converts to a 4.5 inches.
Nobody has answered up yet. So, I'll offer my $0.02.
And I have no experience with the rear seat speakers. However, I can say the woofer is listed as 20cm (7.87") and a Pioneer 8" woofer bolted right up to the stock mounting plate.
As the stock speaker is listed as 12cm (4.7"), If I had to guess, I'd say a 5" speaker would fit. Those can be found semi-easily.
Edit: More knowledgeable answer below.

the rear speakers are 4 inch. I replaced mine years ago, but I can't remember with what, it's been over 15yrs. I did find the paperwork for my 6x9's & they are Boston SX95's, I'm not sure if I used the same brand, but I do know that I used original fitment on all my speakers & have never had to modify any speaker hole
