Default Rear chassis braces

Apologize for my writing, English is not my first language (I don’t even write good in my own native language )

Back in April 2021, I ordered this lower rear chassis brace and strut tower brace from this guy in Russia. It took about 3 weeks for him to make the goods. Then I sent payment via Paypal. While the price for the pieces are very affordable the shipping cost is a lots. However, it only took 10days from when he shipped them to get to my door.
He packed everything very well, including all the extra bolts/washers for the lower rear chassis brace.

For those of you who don’t know this lower brace is a clone of the Toms brace which costs $$$$.

ready to install

Installation is just straightforward, unbolt the old one out and put the new one in, and then torque them to specs.
Even though he include all the bolts, I opt to use my own 10.9grade bolts since I have a bunch of them (the plastic bag)

There is one problem, the exhaust hits the brace when go over bump, I put a piece of foam in there for now so it doesn’t make too much noise. Will see how long will this last or it’ll take care of the problem once & for all. I’ll let the guy know so maybe he can move the center brace couple mm back to avoid this or drill all the holes on the bracket in oval shapes to allow back/forth adjustment.

The upper Strut Tower Brace (STB) installation is not too bad. The hardest part is to figure out how to cut the trim pieces at the precise location (and fiber itch on your hands)

The bonus piece, front radiator plate, supposed to provide cold air to the intake (it's clone of Carbing radiator cooling plate for the SC430)

just need to peel off the protective white plastic.

Impression:

I haven’t have a chance to drive much yet but the car really stiffen up. It’s solid. After this one, I'm done with bracing the SC430, unless something else comes along.

For the money, I would do it again without hesitation.

In addition to this I also have:

1. New set of custom YCW coilovers with 12kg/8kg Swift Springs (same time with rear braces)
2. Mevotech/SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arms (same time with rear braces)
3. Engine/motor mounts (same time with rear braces, much easier to install than I thought)
4. Rear knuckle bushings (same time with rear braces, PITA to install)
5. Front TRD sway bar (31mm) and rear ISF sway bar (17mm) both with poly bushing (last year)
6. Front Cusco STB (last year)

I'll try to answer questions as I can if anyone have any.

Yes, that's what I did.
Here is the link if you are interested. http://www.распорки.рф/store/#!/SC/c/47713206
However, I would not recommend this mod to your car. You should spend the money and get a set of MeisterR coilovers since you are about to replace the the shocks.
For the front, keep the sway bar, upgrade to poly bushing, and in the rear, get the ISF 17mm sway bar and poly bushing.
and that's all I would do for your car regarding handling upgrade.

Btw, after a week of driving with both braces installed, I just took off the rear strut tower brace. I think it's a little too stiff for normal roads driving. It's only take a few minutes to take off and put on so I can do that anytime.
If anyone go to the track, this rear STB is a must have.
On the other hand, the lower chassis brace improves the car handling compare to the original brace. It's a strongly and solidly built, but it doesn't make the car too rigid. We need some body flex for the car to feel comfortable.
I will update the thread again in a week or 2.

Looking forward to your update. I quit racing twenty years ago when I realized why young men won and old men lost....it has nothing to do with reflexes....

Damn, you're making me jelly!

I have other expenses right now, but maybe someday I'll give that lower rear bar a try, it's pretty much the only brace I don't have. Thanks for posting pics/review and finding it. I think the rear STB is great for the body wobble everyone talks about, I'm very happy with mine.

Another update to this topic.
I've decided not to connect the RSTB for now, and I left the mounting hardware in place so it will only take a few minutes to install in the future if I want to.
I had to deal with the exhaust hitting the brace for a few weeks, then I ordered some poly exhaust hangers and replaced the 20yr old sagging rubber hangers. Voila, problem solved.

I noticed on their website they offer bars made of different wall thickness. 1.5, 2, and 3 mm, which did you purchase?
what is the weight of the bar?

Default is 1.5mm thickness, which is the one I bought. The site states 7.5kg (16.5lb) for the weight.

How does one go about ordering this in english?

Chrome isn't translating the page, so I can get to what I think is the shipping options, but there's like 6 of them and only 3 have prices and I can't read any of it.

I'm not 100% sure I'm ready to pull the trigger, but I was curious to see what it would cost with shipping and everything. Do you pay with paypal?

I have the same rear trunk tower strut bar. Could you make some type of measurement jig (or diagram) with the exact location of the holes which you cut? You could make it using a point of reference and cm from each point to the next? Would be very help for myself and others in the future. Thank you.

Install Google translate on your phone, then use the camera feature of the app, point to the part that the computer's browser can't translate, and you'll get it.
In your case, you already have the rear strut tower bar installed so I'm not sure if you need this. It'll really make your car like a box since you have front upper & lower brace, as well as rear upper brace, and you are trying to complete the box setup by installing the beefier lower lower brace. The setup is great if you drive on flat roads, Bay Area roads are just plain bad.

Unfortunately I do not have any kind of diagram or template. I can tell you how I got that though. I installed bracket to the strut tower, installed the linen piece, use a rubber mallet and hit from outside, right at location where I was going to cut, then take the linen cover out and cut it according to the imprint marks. Just a little bit of patience & elbow grease.
I'll get a tape measurer and take pictures when I get a chance.
